1.)Theater Management Assistant Intern
Wage House, an improv comedy theater located in Pawtucket, is looking for an intern to join our team and learn the ropes of managing a growing comedy theater. The hours would range from 4 to 8 hours a week. Our black box venue has shows every Friday, and classes through the year. Our shows include improv, sketch, stand up and variety. Our concessions include a variety of local beers, a selection of wines, and light snacks.
The benefits of this internship include hands on experience managing a theater and interacting with customers, working with a great team of artists and watching some of the best comedy this area has to offer!
The candidate we are looking for will be someone who is reliable, enjoys working with the public, has an interest in comedy and/or theater management and has weekday (flexible) and Friday night availability.
- Assist with general theater upkeep
- Show night set up and audience management
- Develop promotional materials
- Perform online marketing and promotional content
- Assist with documentation of shows
Must be able available most Fridays evenings from 6:20pm-9pm (some flexibility). Must be available on weekdays (lots of flexibility). Excellent communication skills. Experience working on social media. An interest in working in theater management, comedy or service industry.
2.) Show and Event Photographer
Wage House, an improv comedy theater located in Pawtucket, is looking for an intern to join our team and be apart of a growing comedy theater. The hours would be 2 to 4 hours/week (if more hours needed, arrangements can be made). Our black box venue has shows every Friday, and classes throughout the year. Our shows include improv, sketch, stand up and variety.
The benefits to the intern include building your portfolio, having your work featured on our website and social media accounts, working with a great team of artists and watching some of the best comedy this area has to offer!
In return, we are looking for someone who is reliable, open to collaboration, has a background in photography, has access to photography equipment, enjoys working with the public and in a comedy theater setting.
- Attend most shows on Fridays and take photos before, during and after the show
- Work with artistic team to develop and complete projects such as taking headshots and promotional work
- Adding edited content to DropBox in a timely manner
Must be available on most Fridays before and during shows. Some weekday availability for specific projects (flexible). Reliable transportation to and from events. Able to share show content quickly.
