Every Friday night Wage House presents an hour-long improv show featuring some of the area’s top improvisers and comedians. Friday night shows start at 8pm but be sure to arrive a little early to enjoy some drinks from our bar.  Follow us on social media to stay informed of any special events.

Level 1 - Improv Basics

7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

This Level 1 class begins on Tuesday, January 21st and runs through March 10th

Here is where it all starts! This 8-week class is designed to teach you the core concepts of improv including agreement, pattern and basic scene work. Students will learn how to work from the top of their intelligence to make choices that will become the building blocks of great scenes. Within a highly supportive and positive environment, students will explore and practice the core skills of improvisation. At Wage House, we strongly believe anyone can improvise, so this class is for everyone! Learn the fundamentals of improv and practice getting up on stage. Improv is great for anyone wanting to be a better performer, have more communication tools, work on public speaking, or just have fun! At the end of the class, you and your classmates will perform as a team in your very own show.

This course runs for 8 weeks, and each class is 3 hours long.

Please be advised this class will include some light to moderate physical activity.  Participants must be at least 16 years old.

STATE CHAMPS Competitive style short-form improv

8:00 pm - 9:00 pm

What happens when Rhode Island’s best improvisers take it to the mat, swing for the fences and start throwing hail mary passes, all with just 60 minutes on the shot clock? Find out in STATE CHAMPS, the most competitive, fast-paced improv that our little state has ever seen! Come early and grab a beer or wine from the bar!

Improv Workshop for Middle Schoolers!!

10:00 am - 1:00 pm

In this improv workshop, participants will unleash their creativity with fun improv games and scene work!! During this 3 hour workshop, we will introduce some short-form improv games that allow for creativity and collaboration. We will also introduce some of the basic skills of long-form improv and explore those elements within improvised scenes. 

This workshop is open to people currently enrolled in grades 6th through 8th at any school or program. There will be individual and group work involved as well as light to moderate physical activity.

Jake Goldman's comedy album release party!

8:00 pm - 9:15 pm

In March of 2019, Jake Goldman recorded his first-ever live comedy album, “I’m Fine,” at Wage House. Tonight, he’s celebrating its ultimate release with some of his best comedy pals from over 15 years in comedy. This album release party will comprise bits from the past with some of Jake’s oldest collaborators including pals from around the country. There will be sketches, interviews, musical guests, jokes, songs, some improv and more! It’s a party! A limited number of CDs will be available for purchase, as well as some additional album-related swag.

Sophomore Comedy Tour!

For one night only, Wage House welcomes Sophomore Comedy Tour, a collective of LGBTQ+ comedians from New York City! Tickets are only $5! Come early and grab a beer or wine from the bar!

Level 2 Musical Improv class

7:00 pm - 10:00 pm

In this 8 week class, experienced improvisers will build off the musical improv skills they learned in Level 1! Instructor Keith Munslow will break down how to create a story in Musical improv on the spot in a relaxed and supportive environment, and build musical scenes that use core improv elements combined with vocal and song-writing techniques. Prior improv and musical improv experience are required, you must have taken musical improv with Keith before to register for Level 2, please email contact@wagehouse.com for further details.

Teen Improv Workshop!!

By making a reservation you are guaranteeing you and your party seats at our show. Please note, making a reservation is NOT making a payment. Payment is made the night of the show at our box office. Payment can be made on the night of with cash or major credit card although CASH payment is preferred and appreciated.  

IMPORTANT: Doors open at 7:00pm for people to enjoy our bar and refreshments. Please claim your reservation at the box office by 7:50pm the night of the performance. Reservations will be released after 7:50pm to accommodate walk up business. In other words, you will no longer be guaranteed a seat if you arrive later than 7:50pm.

WAGE HOUSE

Wage House is an improv comedy theater located in Pawtucket offering fun-filled shows every Friday at 8pm. Our shows are high energy, smart, and unscripted so you'll never see the same show twice. The venue has a bar and light snacks so come early to enjoy the lounge area!
